Have you ever wondered how the magic of weather radar works? In the rainy season in South East Asia, it is super-useful to run an app such as WIndy.tv and see exactly where the rain is. For this magic to happen these interesting-looking installations need to be distributed around your country... called doppler radars. Basically from ground stations radar is sent WAY out, maybe 200 Kilometers and it bounces back from rain or snow.
Did you know that Thailand is a world leader in the number of Weather Radar installation sites? We have 23 Radar installation sites. If you compare by land area that beats most countries including the USA, Australia, Russia, Canada, and Indonesia! The coverage is excellent here and the data feeds into the Thai Meteorological Department and out to sites such as Windy.
